Hello, everyone! Today (Tuesday the 4th) was the first day of teaching with live students. We taught outside in a small school in Koh Phangan with young students (like 6-12 years old) and had a great time. I personally taught the children different fruit vocabulary words such as strawberry, apple, orange, banana, etc. They were very quick learners and had all of the vocabulary mastered by the end of my 60 minute lesson.

After we ate lunch, me and two of the other male teachers played volleyball with the kids, which was a lot of fun. Later on, we divided into three groups, all representing the countries in which the expats were from. I was partnered with two female teachers, one from California and one from Toronto. The other groups were composed of three South Africans, and the other group was British. All of the other teachers have been extremely cool and easy-going, and we’ve all been very close, as we’ve been going out to dinner, swimming, scuba-diving and snorkeling together.

At the moment, I am staying in a room with no AC or hot water, but it isn’t really that much of a problem. We live pretty no-frills here, but it’s been a ton of fun and a great experience. I have tons more to talk about, and I plan on being a lot more active after this week. Keep checking the site, I will be posting pictures very soon. I haven’t taken many myself, but the other expats have taken a ton, and I will be posting the ones they’ve taken. Talk to you all again soon!

Hey guys, everything is going very well. I arrived safely and without any problems, and am having an awesome time. I’m very busy right now, but I promise to update with a lot more depth as soon as I can. Pictures will be coming soon, too, so stay tuned!
